Precautions

• Let your doctor know if you have ever had low levels of magnesium, calcium, or potassium in your blood. Also tell them if you have hypoparathyroidism (where your body doesn’t make enough parathyroid hormone to control calcium levels), low vitamin B12, osteoporosis (where bones become weak and break easily), an autoimmune disease (where the body attacks its organs), like lupus, or liver disease.
• Inform your physician if you are nursing a baby, intend to become pregnant, or are already pregnant. If you get pregnant while taking esomeprazole, contact your doctor.
